Russ Barenberg played the Station Inn in Nashville last night with Stuart Duncan on fiddle,Viktor Krauss on bass, and Todd Lombardi as a very capable second guitar. One of the best all instrumental performances I've ever heard.
His album 'When At Last" is absolutely great and gets the coveted Five Mallard Award. Also apropos of whatever,Russ plays a Gibson SlopeD,which gives him a liitle different sound.Russ will be at Kauffman Kamp this year. One killer concert guaranteed.

Yeah, I just spent a few days listening to, and learning from Russ at the Wintergrass Academy. Fantastic musician, and a great guy. That J-45 of his is really sweet, too. Makes me want a vintage Gibson.
