Winfield, your oh so right about "Rough & Ready". A great, yet often overlooked recording. Definitely highlights the Motown Sound aspect of Beck's music (some interesting comments on that, i.e. the importance of the Motown Sound, by Beck in the notes from the re-release of Beck-Ola). And the guy just consistently gets signature monster tone whether he's playing the LP or the Strat. Hell, he'd probably sound that way even with my old Hagstrom I, the first electric I ever owned. Beck's a creative genius.

I read J. Beck was partial to the 50 watt Marshall heads, he seems to have two sets of two in stereo in the video.Although I wouldnt call that tone clean, its definatley a sweeter cleaner marshall tone than those amps usually get credit for. I was late getting into J.Beck and I absolutley love instrumental music .Awesome post Im going to order the video as well.
