Ok, now that I have everyones undivided attention..

I wonder if The Man has ever sat down and picked a Collings. I have a video of him playing with Jim Lauderdale down at the Suwannee Springfest, and Jim is sporting his very much played sb Collings. I cant help but wonder if Tony sat down backstage and burned a few up on it. I'd love to sit out in front of TR and listen to him play a nice braz D2HA, etc.

Am I the only one here that has had these thoughts?

That's just not right. I was clicking on this thread pretty quick when I saw that title. I have some pics of Tony jamming with Kenny Smith, but I believe Kenny is playing his Martin and not his Collings.

Personally, I'd love to hear Tony on a mahogany dread - just 'cause.

Tony Rice could make a shoe box wraped with rubber bands sound great.

Yeah, I've wondered that same thing. Does he gas for other guitars? He certainly upgrades his SCGC every few years. Tone Poems may be the closest we get to hearing him play mahogany and other variations.
