April 2009 has been set as the publication date for the in-depth biography
of Tony Rice.
It is written by Tim Stafford and Caroline Wright and will be debuted
during this year's Merlefest.

Still Inside covers Rice on two tracks, examining Tony's personal life and
his impact as a musician,
with Tim tackling the guitar side and Caroline covering Rice the
individual.

Stafford says that it will run to over 400 pages with plenty to interest
the most devoted Rice-head.

It will features scads of great photos as well as Tony's entire life in his
own words along with testimony
from over a hundred key eyewitnesses, all laid out in an innovative new
design."

I am really looking forward to this book..glad they were finally able to finish it. Its been almost four years in the making

Cool, and thanks for the heads up on the release date. That one's going directly into the Kindle as soon as it's released.

BTW, check the shot of Tony on the Biography section of his website. Tony, at a fairly young age, playing a Dread that looks twice the normal size. I wonder if he knew even then that he'd come to dominate that instrument.

T Rice is one of my all time favorite musicians and singers (sadly, past tense). I will definatly be interested in the book. I have seen him perform on stage many times. Once at Watermelon Park Festival in 2007, I was right up against the stage as he was playing a solo; he glance down at me, looked me right in the eyes, and gave me a slight nod:-) It is rare to be in the presence of such greatness.

I just got an email from Caroline Wright and she said the book wont be out until October, to coincide with IBMA.
