I just read an email from the flatpick list-serv about a new CD fgm is putting out. Sounds interesting and here's what it said....

FGM Records just wrapped up a new CD project that we have been working on
for the last 5 months. It is a benefit for Steve McCreary's daughter Sophie
(for more info about Sophie, please visit http://www.anm.com/sophie/).

As most of you know, Steve McCreary is the general manager for Collings.
His daughter Sophie has early onset-bipolar disorder and all sales of this
CD will go to help Steve offset the high cost of Sophie's care.

All of the musicians who are featured on this CD (and the engineers who
recorded the songs) volunteered their time and talent. All of the featured
musicians played Collings instruments. About half the songs are vocal, the
other half instrumental. Here are a list of the individuals who contributed
to the project and the songs they performed:

There are also some awesome sidemen (and women) performing with these folks,
including: Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Gabe Witcher, Sally Van Meter, Bill Bryson,
Byron House, Jacob Jollif, Tristan Clarridge, Tashina Clarridge, Stuart
Duncan, and others.

Most of these are songs that were written specifically for this project, or
re-recorded for this project. For instance, Mark Cosgrove provided a new
version of "Good Medicine"...different than the one that was on his album.
And we featured Cody's "Old Bud" in the magazine a while back, but this
version has a full band.

The Collings instruments featured here include Clarence White models, D1As,
D2Hs, Winfield models, D1A Vintage, CJ Sunburst, DS2H A, OM3s, OM2H, OM42,
OM1E guitars, and MT1, MF-5, and Tim O'Brien model mandolins.

The CD is currently at the duplication facility and should be in our hands
and ready for sale in about three weeks. If you are a fan of Collings
instruments, or if you would just like to help out Steve McCreary, a great
friend to all flatpickers and guitar enthusiasts, please buy the CD. You
will get some great music and you will be helping a great cause.
