A couple of weeks ago I saw Brooks Williams in concert in a church hall in a village in East Yorkshire (very strange venue). He was terrific and his guitar playing was outstanding. He's not a Collings player (I think he was playing a Flammang) but I was wondering if anyone is familiar with him and can suggest which CDs to start with as he appears to have released quite a lot.

For those who don't know him, I would certainly recommend you catch him if he is playing near by.

Thanks.

Neil,
Brooks is a terrific player and a very nice guy. All of his recordings are great, but for the singer/songwriter stuff, Dead Sea Cafe is a good starting point, Skiffle Bop is also very nice stuff. Little Lion is a very good instrumental CD. I think you would enjoy all of these. He does have two new CD's that I don't have yet. One is a live recording and one is a new instrumental CD. I'm looking forward to those.

He also has an all-instrumental album he did with Jim Henry that is really good. It's called "Ring Some Changes" I think.
