Collings CD

Looks like a great lineup of musicians and instruments, and it's for a good cause. Can't wait to hear it.

Given that this project is a fundraiser for Steve McCreary's daughter, I don't know that it's appropriate to ask for freebies. I'll gladly buy one for $15.

With Steve's permission, I have put up a page for the CD: http://www.collingsforum.com/cd/index.html

It is also accessible via the forum homepage!

I think we should do our own CD. I would be willing to master it, should anyone decide this is a worthy project.

I just placed my order, although it will be a long wait for it to get to me here in Australia ( I used to subscribe to Flatpick Mag). Very worthy cause. I'm constantly looking for someone playing a Collings...CD, DVD or whatever so I jumped when I saw this CD. I love the way they describe the Collings each musician is playing and I look forward to playing along with Herb Pederson on my CJSB. Still a kid at heart!

Kenny B., you should start a new thread regarding a Collings Forum CD project. I think it's a cool idea. We've got some real players on this forum.

Sounds like a good idea!

I can probably create a new forum for this project... what do you all think?

Thanks Allen for responding, I didn't know if I came off as a bit non-caring because I kinda changed the subject. WE should all support charities of some type of another and the Collings CD is really an opportunity for us to support a good cause that could make the difference in someone's life. Making our own CD from this forum was a spontaneous reaction to reading about the Collings CD. Maybe Ed can start a discussion thread or maybe a new Forum topic area, maybe we can all chime in with ideals on how to go about this. I've never been part of a forum produced CD but would be happy to contribute my time and possible a song or two.
